How We Choose Needle Depth
You and your provider agree on the depth for each area before the pen touches your skin. Thin skin, like the forehead and under the eyes, gets the shallowest settings. Cheeks and acne scars can take deeper passes.
At your first session, your provider starts on the conservative side and checks how your skin responds. If you want to stay shallow, say so. The depth never goes past what you agreed to.
Before you start, tell your provider about retinoids, acne medicine, cold sores or any past skin infection, so they can adjust the plan.
Who Microneedling Is For

A numbing cream sits on your skin for about 20 to 30 minutes, so the pen is easier to sit through.
Treatment
The pen moves across each area in passes and feels like light scratching or vibration. The whole face visit is booked for an hour.
Going Home
Your skin looks pink, like a mild sunburn, for a day or two. You go home with aftercare steps for the first week.

For the first day, skip makeup, workouts and swimming, and wash with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser. For the rest of the week, skip retinol, acids and scrubs, and wear sunscreen every day.

Microneedling Under the Eyes
The skin under the eyes is thin, so it gets the shallowest settings and a gentler pass. People choose it for fine lines and crepey texture there. Under-eye is a 30-minute visit on its own, or it can be combined with the full face.
Puffiness and dark circles from pigment or veins don't respond much to microneedling. Your provider tells you at the consultation whether it fits what you see.
Is Microneedling Safe?
Most side effects are short: redness, tightness, flaking and sometimes small bruises. Less often, microneedling can cause breakouts, an infection or darker patches of skin, which is why depth, clean technique and aftercare matter.
Each client gets a new sterile needle cartridge, and your provider never goes deeper than the depth you agreed to.
